Chapter 1208

---

Sonny let out a sigh and offered words of encouragement, “Don’t be discouraged. It’s our first meeting, and he’s naturally cautious.
It’s understandable that he doesn’t trust us yet.”
“You’re right.” Lucinda composed herself and nodded determinedly.
“I’ll earn his trust at the dinner in five days!”
Sonny fixed his gaze on her face, ready to support any decision she made.
“Miss Simmons, what would you like for dinner? I can have the maid call Kyson and ask him to bring us something to eat.”
At the mention of food, Lucinda’s complexion paled.
Although the lunch earlier had appeared appetizing, she had no appetite. Before the Princess Royal, she had to pretend to enjoy her food and force herself to eat.
And now, the mere thought of food made her feel queasy. She gently patted her chest to alleviate the nausea.
“I don’t have any specific cravings, and I’m not really hungry. Maybe it’s the different cuisine here. I always feel that the flavors don’t suit my taste. Just order something light for me.”
Rubbing her temples wearily, Lucinda said, “I feel tired. I’ll go to bed now. Wake me up when dinner is ready.”
“Alright, get some rest. It’s been a tiring day, walking around the Imperial Palace,” Sonny replied.
He then turned on the bug and closed the door behind him.
Lucinda constantly felt a wave of drowsiness over the past couple of days.
Perhaps it was due to the mental pressure she had faced since arriving here.

Lucinda didn’t give it much mind and soon plopped onto the bed, feeling dizzy.
In just a matter of minutes, she drifted off to sleep.
The following day, in the afternoon at Cadiered, after carefully adjusting Nathan’s medication for several days, Hilliard drew back the bedroom curtains and turned to Nathan, who sat on the bed’s edge.
“How are you feeling? Any improvement in your vision?” he inquired.
Nathan blinked, his hands groping aimlessly in the darkness, and shook his head.
“Can’t see a thing? Not even a glimmer of light?” Cyrus pressed on.
Nathan shook his head again, his spirits sinking low.
“Hilliard, what can we do? Should we consider performing surgery on him?”
Hilliard replied with seriousness, “His condition isn’t like regular blindness.”
