Kyson lowered his head and confessed, “Yes, I have no intention of giving it to you. I want to possess you completely. Only when Nathan is no longer alive can you love me wholeheartedly.”
Lucinda sneered.
“You’re mistaken. If he dies, a part of me dies too.
You kill him, and I will only despise you and send you straight to hell!”
He locked his gaze on her, saying nothing.
She attempted to appeal to his emotions.
“Years ago, I adored and looked up to you. You were such a man of honor. But now, you’ve become cruel and insane.”
Lost in reminiscence, Kyson remained silent.
“Is this endless cycle of hurting each other truly entertaining? If you’re willing to give me the serum, I will forever be thankful. We can return to how things were, alright?”
He looked up at her again.
A few seconds of silence enveloped the room. Finally, he chuckled.
“Is this a joke or something? Return to how things were? As friends or lovers? Both Nathan and I want you. Will he let go of you or do you expect me to?”
Lucinda took a sip of her juice and gave no reply.

Kyson found her naive notion amusing until a sharp pain struck the back of his head, jolting his memory before he blacked out.
He touched the blood on the back of his head and fixed his deep eyes on her. He was suspicious.
“You’ve said a lot. Why do I sense that you’re trying to buy some time for someone?”
Lucinda who was sipping her juice suddenly froze.
She smiled lightly.

In the heat of the moment, he had been consumed by anger, but now, he realized her words held a deeper meaning.
This made him squint his eyes and question, “Did you already know that I have the serum?”
Lucinda raised an eyebrow and exclaimed, feigning surprise, “You have the serum? Didn’t you claim it was stored in the palace’s warehouse?”
