In that moment, Harold arrived with his men and intervened to stop the Princess Royal.
“Rhonda! Drop the knife! Don’t do anything foolish. Nathan is here with an international arrest warrant. The king has given his approval.
You can’t stop him from taking Lance away.”

Disbelief was evident in the Princess Royal’s tear-filled eyes.

Harold approached her and swiftly took hold of the dagger.
She clung to the hem of his suit, set aside her pride for the first time, and pleaded, “Harold, please do something! My son! If they took him away, they would torture him! Help me kill them!”
Harold sighed, dismissing her pleas and grievances. Seizing an opportunity when her attention wavered, he struck the back of her neck with his hand.

Harold lifted her and walked out of the church, paying no heed to Kyson as if his fate had no bearing on him.

“Lucinda, what’s the matter?” he asked, his voice gentle and concerned.
Casting a quick glance at Kyson, who was nearby, she inquired “Nate, what do you plan to do with him once he’s back in Cadiered?”
Nathan didn’t need a moment’s hesitation before he replied, “I’ll lock him up in a secret cell, subject him to relentless torture, but keep him alive. I want him to suffer and experience pain for the rest of his days.”
