Mekhi leisurely sat by the window, Lighting a cigar.
His amber eyes revealed anger even through the hazy smoke.
“So you agreed to move in so quickly just to find proof for Lucinda.”
His voice was cold. His rage coupled with the smell of tobacco which filled the room, made it hard for her to breathe.
Noelle took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and nodded.
“Yes.”
Crack!
A loud sound reverberated.
Immediately she said that, Mekhi’s teacup hurtled towards her and shattered at her feet.
She instinctively took a couple of steps back to avoid the flying shards.
“What did the Simmons family offer you? You did all of these for them and didn’t mind going against your own family! You’re such an ingrate!” Mekhi scowled at her.
His words pierced Noelle’s heart. She defiantly met his oppressive gaze.
“Ingrate? Yes, I’m an ingrate! I know that everyone in the Shaw family doesn’t welcome me. Even though you’re my family, you treat me like a stranger. But Lucinda, despite not being related to me, shows me genuine care and love like a real sister. If it weren’t for her, I would have died long ago! You and the Princess Royal plan to kill her. Do you expect me to stand by and watch!”
Mekhi sneered.
