Chapter 1335

Lucinda refused without a second thought.
“Well, it looks like you have a deep bias against me.” Valerie shrugged, seemingly unfazed.
“It’s getting late. I’ll have my bodyguards escort you down the mountain. Nathan has some matters to attend to, and I doubt he’ll be interested in discussing endorsement deals right now. Please, leave.”
Lucinda didn’t want to engage with her any longer and urged her to take her leave.
Inside the villa, Graham grew worried as his sister hadn’t returned for quite some time. He ventured out to find her and was surprised to see Valerie. His eyes narrowed slightly as he questioned, “What are you doing here?”
Lucinda turned around, her surprise evident.
“Do you know her?”
Valerie remained silent, while Graham kept his expression stoic.
“Not really. I’ve seen her on TV a couple of times, that’s all.

He came out with a cloak which he gently placed on Lucinda. He then wrapped his arm around her shoulder protectively.
Then he instructed the guard stationed at the door, “Escort this lady back.”
Without sparing Valerie a glance, he held Lucinda close and guided her back inside the villa.
Valerie stood at the doorway for a long while.
She fixed her gaze on them as they walked in.
The chilly wind tousled her hair, and one couldn’t tell what was on her mind.
She lingered until they disappeared completely from sight. The guard stepped forward and escorted her away.
On their way back to the villa, Lucinda carefully watched Graham’s expression. She noticed a somberness in his face since he saw Valerie, but she couldn’t decipher his thoughts.
She cautiously asked, “Graham, it seems like you don’t like Miss Garrett.”
“I didn’t even know her. ‘Dislike’ is a strong word.” Graham’s face remained impassive as he continued, “You should focus on Nathan now instead of asking about a stranger.”
In comparison to Nathan, Valerie wasn’t important at all.
Lucinda ceased her inquiries and headed straight inside.
Hilliard and Graham had already prepared the drink and set it on the table.
Three glasses were arranged before Nathan.
