Lucinda averted her gaze and left with him, choosing not to look back.

Instinctively, she glanced downward and found herself clad in a pristine white nightgown. Lying on her familiar, plush bed, she was taken aback to realize that it had all been a nightmare.
Even though Lucinda was awake, the lingering sensation of drowning from her dream felt disturbingly real.

Nathan, a light sleeper, woke up as soon as she did.
He flicked on the bedside lamp, reached out from behind, and gently dabbed the cold sweat from her forehead with a tissue, his eyes filled with concern.
“Baby? Are you having those dreams again? Have you been under too much stress lately? Let’s go to the hospital tomorrow.”
Lucinda heaved a deep breath and held his hands.
