Nathan lowered his head and affectionately rubbed noses with her.
“Just watch over things. If I’m not being thoughtful enough, you can give me some advice.”
“Okay.”
The two exchanged smiles, their eyes filled with love as they gazed at each other.
Standing beside them, Dwayne felt a profound bitterness and lowered his head.
As Nathan walked towards the door of the private room with Lucinda, he asked coldly, “Aren’t you coming?”
“You’re going to review the surveillance footage. What am I supposed to be doing there? Watch you two getting all touchy-feely?”
Lucinda seethed as her annoyance bubbled over.
“Is it your business or mine? If you keep pushing me to do all the hard work, I’ll drag your sorry ass back to your grandfather tonight!”
“Please, don’t! I’m sorry,” Dwayne pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.
He dabbed at the water stains on his clothes with a tissue, and tried to fix his hair in an attempt to salvage his appearance. He then reluctantly got to his feet.
Lucinda scolded, “Quit dawdling and get over here to open the door for me.”
“Alright, alright,” Dwayne grumbled, complying with Lucinda’s demand.

They then made their way to the monitoring room together.
Once inside, they gathered all the surveillance videos from the moment Dwayne entered the private room until he left. Playing them at ten times the normal speed, they scrutinized the footage, hoping to uncover any anomalies.
If Dwayne didn’t ask those women out, then he must have been taken out of the bar by someone and forced to take the photos while he was not conscious. They must have left some traces.
