Vivien had never had to endure such punishment. Her knees had turned weak from the pain, and she instantly crumpled to the floor.
Her hands reflexively shot out to cushion her fall and support her weight, and by the time she realized her error, it was too late.
This new bout of pain was so terrible that she found it hard to breathe.
