Chapter 701

Dont be picky about food. Victor placed his phone on the table and looked at Joey.

The green onions that had just been picked out of the bowl dropped back again.

I dont like green onions. They taste odd, Joey grumbled.

He proceeded to pluck out the green onions from the broth again, little by little. Victor frowned, his eyes darkening seeing what the boy was doing.

Take the bowl and throw the noodles away, he ordered the servant who was standing behind him.

The servant was stunned by what she heard, but then was going to do as Victor said.

Seeing this, Joey quickly covered the bowl with his arms and asked,

Why? I havent eaten yet!

You dont have to eat this bowl of noodles because you dont like green onions, Victor huffed in a stern voice.

What? Joey pursed his lips together and looked at Victor. Neither of them budged.

When Lukas walked into the dining room, he was surprised to see the awkward silence between the two. When he was thinking about how to ease the tension, Joey puffed his cheeks, picked up the chopsticks again, and quickly shoved the noodles into his mouth.

His mouth was quickly stuffed with noodles.

Im eating, alright?

He then bent his head and began to eat the noodles slowly. Without giving the servant any cues to step forward, Victor took out his phone again, this time to talk about tomorrows schedule with Ivan.

He glanced at Joey every now and then while on the phone.

The little boy chewed slowly, like a hamster with its mouth full of food. His big watery eyes were shining with unyielding light, trying to endure the green onions. After a few bites, he grimaced and felt sick to his stomach.

Even so, he never complained again and continued to eat the noodles.

Victor thought Joey was as stubborn as Rachel.

Thinking of Rachel, his heart skipped a beat. The face he had been missing all day and night suddenly appeared in his mind. On the

Sullivan Groups rooftop four years ago, she had the same expression when she drank the whole bottle of red wine.

Why didnt they just give in?

Victors heart suddenly ached and he huffed loudly, looking annoyed.

Enough! Victor yelled and moved the bowl of noodles in front of

Joey aside.

Joeys eyes widened in surprise. He had been forcing himself to eat the green onions, his face pale from the undesirable flavor in his mouth. Victor narrowed his eyes, feeling regretful seeing the expression on the childs face.
