Chapter 1767

---

Sabrina could put two and two together. Kira probably tried to make Tyrone leave her.

Without more questions, Sabrina grabbed some anti-inflammatory ointment and a cotton swab from the medicine box. She sat down next to Tyrone. Turn your head this way so I can put this on.

Okay.

The room grew quiet, and the only sounds were their gentle breathing.

Sabrina could sense Tyrone was feeling low. But what could she say to make him feel better? To suggest they break up? She knew better than to tell him to give in to Kiras demands.

Just as Sabrina finished applying the ointment, Tyrone muttered, Shes lost it. He sounded frustrated and worn out.

Hearing Tyrones words, Sabrina pondered a bit more. Was it also her who had called Horace during dinner?

Yeah, Tyrone replied.

Sabrina tossed the used cotton swab into the trash can. I think I get whats driving her, she said.

Whats on your mind? he asked.

Shes put too much into Horace. If she lets go now, its like admitting her choices over the last few decades were wrong. Its like her whole lifes been a waste, and she cant handle that. With her personality, shell do anything to convince herself she didnt make the wrong choice.

Horace didnt have Kiras number saved but he knew it was her just from the caller ID. That meant they had been in contact before, and Horace still remembered her number. But if Horace really wanted nothing to do with Kira, he wouldnt just ignore her calls. He would have blocked her numbers and switched off his phone entirely if he was determined.

Tyrone looked drained, leaning into Sabrina and resting his head on her shoulder. He murmured, I really dont know what to do with her. Im tired of all this drama.

Sabrina stroked the back of his head, her fingers brushing through his slightly scratchy hair. Forget about it. Just go relax, she said softly.

Meanwhile, across town in another fancy hotel suite, it was late at night, and Rita, in her pajamas, leaned against the beds headboard.

Horace had just finished talking with the local manager on the phone, and she said, Its late. Time to call it a night.

Horace nodded and was about to hit the bathroom when his phone buzzed again.

Hesitating, he answered, Hello? Yeah Its late. Can we pick this up tomorrow? What? Okay, fine. Ill be there soon.

Rita, about to lie down, sat up again. Whats up? Are you heading out?

Somethings come up at work. I have to deal with it, Horace said, frowning as he grabbed his coat. You get some sleep first.

Okay, have someone pick you up and take it slow on the road, she replied.

Alright, Horace replied without much emotion and was out the door in a flash.

As he left, a hint of worry flickered in Ritas eyes.

Instead of taking the elevator, Horace took the stairs up to the rooftop. It was cold up there, with a great view. He glanced around and spotted a shadowy figure in the far corner.
