Chapter 1348

---

“To be honest…” Bagot’s voice still shaky. “I’d probably fail at recognizing him. It was so dark and I was freaking out too much to see his build clearly. I doubt I would be much help.”
Hannah had figured Bagot wouldn’t have much to offer in terms of information and wasn’t bummed hearing this. “It’s cool, Mr. Bagot, you need some rest. We won’t bother you anymore.”
“Hold up.”
Bagot suddenly stopped Hannah from hanging up. “Miss Moore, do you think this was aimed at us?”
Without solid proof, Hannah couldn’t just jump to conclusions but she didn’t ignore Bagot either. “Nobody’s been caught yet, so we can’t say for sure what’s up. But I don’t reckon it was about you. If someone really wanted you gone, they’d have shot at the door, not waited until you noticed and struggled before shooting at your shoulder.”

Hearing this, Bagot went quiet for a bit before saying, “Thanks for last night, Miss Moore. If it wasn’t for you… I probably wouldn’t have made it to the hospital.”
“No worries.” Hannah’s voice steady. “I have other stuff to handle, so I’ll let you be, Mr. Bagot.”
“Understood.”
After hanging up, Bagot passed the phone back to Trent, looking kind of sorry. “Sorry for the fuss with my dad.”
Taking the phone, Trent waved it off. “My sister just wanted to make sure you’re safe. It’s all good. Now that you’re up and kicking, and nothing’s wrong, we’ll head back.”
He signaled to Keith. “Come on. We should go and check on Hannah to see what’s up!”
At the villa, families could bring their own guards after a few scares for safety.

But there was a hitch. These guards had to rest far off in other villas, so if there was trouble, getting help fast might still be problematic.
After wrapping up the call, Hannah chilled in her room. Just as she was about to step out, she caught wind of a commotion downstairs.
Leaning on the fifth-floor railing, she peeped down and spotted Elsa’s brother, giving Peterson a hard time.
His words were full of insults and Peterson just stood there, taking it silently.
Rhett eyed Peterson up and down, sneering. “You think running in this race makes you Lyons family material? You’re just scum! Blame your face! You’re not good enough for the Lyons family! And yet you dare stick around!”
Taking it one step at a time down the stairs, Hannah’s voice climbed.
“Mr. Austin, have you got nothing better to do than hassle folks?”
Rhett spun around, catching sight of Hannah, and smirked. “What’s up now? You’re just like him. Are you huddling for warmth? Stay out of it.”
Strolling past Rhett, Hannah stood in front of Peterson. “I’ve got a knack for sticking my nose in, what’s your move?”
Rhett was already ticked off by Hannah’s moves in the past days and thanks to Elsa’s influence, he was even more peeved seeing her now.
She even won a race, making headlines everywhere! That just added fuel to Rhett’s fire.
His pent-up anger boiled over, and he couldn’t care less about playing nice – he went for a hit!
