As they chatted, an announcement boomed from the front-stage loudspeaker.
“Would Edwin White of Class 3 please make his way backstage. Thank you.”
Only then did it click for Edwin. He stood up and told Hannah, “I have to deliver the graduation speech. We’ll continue this when I return.”
