Adrian and Devin exchanged warm greetings. Since Holden was here, Devin didn’t ask Adrian anything.
Watching Adrian and Holden interact so closely, Devin felt a bit uneasy. He believed Adrian hadn’t said anything inappropriate to Holden as Holden would surely inquire about it if Adrian had.
They talked for a bit, and the two kids were drenched in sweat nearby. Holden took it upon himself to get the children cleaned up and ready for bed. “Got it.” Adrian then inquired, “By the way, how did Holden lose his memory?”
Devin exhaled deeply and told him about the car accident. He added, “Don’t bring up anything about the Anderson family. Avoid mentioning anyone connected to the Anderson family to Holden.”
Adrian, confused, asked, “What about Ariana? Holden remembers Ariana.”
At that, Devin sighed. “He hasn’t fully remembered Miss Edwards yet. Right now, he only recalls that he and Ariana were a couple before.”

Devin nodded and asked, “By the way, what brought you back to Eleymond all of a sudden?”
Devin’s persistent questioning made Adrian feel guilty.
He started stammering, “I… I came back because I had something to do here.”
“What is it exactly? What else do you have to do in Eleymond?” Devin asked curiously.
Adrian replied, “It’s not a big deal. I just came back to look for someone…”
“Who are you looking for? We can help you find that person if you want.” Devin found Adrain acting strange and asked a few more questions to dig more information. But Adrain’s response was perfunctory.

“I came back for Jennifer. I had an argument with her. She got angry and came to Eleymond. And I came back because I want to make amends to her.”
“What did you have a fight for?” Devin’s curiosity grew even more.
Adrian sighed loudly, and his head drooped down as memories of him quarreling with Jennifer came back to him. “I went to a nightclub, and she caught me there.”
“You… How could you…” Devin looked at him with disbelief. He wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought. He sighed and said, “How come you haven’t changed a bit after all these years? No wonder Miss Austin came back to Eleymond out of anger. You haven’t been able to control yourself even after you got married. What woman could endure your behavior and stay with you? You deserve it.”
Adrian felt wronged and defended himself, saying, “This time was different from before. I haven’t been to a nightclub for so long. That night, I went there because it was a co-operator’s birthday, and I’m friends with him. I had to go. I swear I didn’t do anything at the nightclub. I wanted to go back home earlier, but I didn’t expect to be caught by Jennifer.”
Adrian looked aggrieved. After explaining the situation, he said in a low voice, “Anyway… I won’t divorce her. As long as she is willing to go back with me, I’m willing to do anything.”
Devin looked at him and didn’t know what to say. He just shook his head and sighed. “Well, I wish you all the best.”
