Chapter 1425

---

Becker quenched his cigar with a contented smile, meeting Zayden’s gaze steadily. “It’s not about my desires. My allegiance lies with you. However, to navigate negotiations with the board, a tangible demonstration of commitment is indispensable.”
Zayden’s laughter rang out softly, his amusement evident. “Enlighten me, Becker. What is it that they seek from me?” he inquired.
“Considering your extensive business portfolio, a gesture of sharing wouldn’t go amiss. Besides, we must consider the cunning nature of the board members. What if they perceive your reluctance as greed and refuse you?” Becker replied.

Zayden puffed on his cigar thoughtfully, understanding Becker’s point.
This cunning strategist aimed to transfer some of his businesses to the Fredrick Group, taking his share in the process. However, the risk loomed large, given the volatile disposition of the board members.
Observing Zayden’s hesitation, Becker smoothly pushed a document across the table.
Zayden glanced at it. It was the endorsement for his promotion, bearing the signatures of numerous shareholders.
“Half of the shareholders have already endorsed your promotion,”
Becker informed Zayden. “As for the rest, I’ll work on persuading them individually. There’s still potential for their signatures, and I trust you’ll consider my proposed condition.”
Zayden squinted his eyes, pausing a moment before nodding slowly. He set his cigar down and said, “I’ll think about it.”
Becker nodded in response, collected the documents, and stood up.
“I’ll Look forward to some good news from you, Mr. Fredrick.”
With that, he left.
Once Becker had departed, Zayden’s assistant, who had been quietly observing, asked, “Are you really considering giving in to Becker’s demands, Mr. Fredrick?”
Remaining seated, Zayden pondered briefly, then flipped the question to his assistant. “Do you find him trustworthy?”

The assistant paused to think, then answered, “Becker is dependable. He’s proven himself numerous times as your deep-cover informant within the Fredrick Group. I’d say he’s trustworthy.”
Indeed, Becker had been Zayden’s most valuable mole in the Fredrick Group.
He had consistently provided updates on Holden’s whereabouts and had even tipped off Zayden about Holden’s covert investigations about Theodore through the dark web.
After such extensive collaboration, Zayden felt inclined to trust Becker. Despite the risks involved, the potential benefits were too significant to ignore.
Zayden flicked his cigar into an ashtray, poured himself a half glass of strong liquor, and sipped it thoughtfully. After a long moment of reflection, he picked up the phone and dialed Becker.
He said, “Alright, I’ve thought it over. I’m ready to transfer some of my holdings in Mistlyn to the Fredrick Group. But I expect over 90% approval at the shareholders’ meeting the day after tomorrow.”
On the other end of the Line, Becker quickly agreed, “No problem, Mr. Fredrick. You’re so generous; I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly. The future of the Fredrick Group is in your hands, and the profits will be a hundred times your investment.”
Becker buttered Zayden up a bit before ending the call.
After ending the call, Becker turned to the shadowy figure beside him and whispered, “Zayden has agreed to our terms.”
