“Maverick Clark’s lawyer speaking. Why did you turn off your phone?”
The man on the other end sounded rather impatient and pissed.
Stella was taken aback for a second, but then she remembered that she was supposed to be meeting Maverick to discuss the divorce.
“Oh, my! I’m so—” Stella began, but she was cut off by the annoyed man.
“I have been waiting for hours. It’s already nine o’clock. When do you intend to show up?”
